Tairua Backpackers Beach Villa overlooks the Tairua harbour and offers free fishing gear, canoes, windsurfers, body and surfboards. Walk out onto the sand-flats at low tide or down to the wharf and catch your dinner.

Set in tropical gardens with plenty of outdoor areas to sunbath, read and relax on hammocks under the kiwifruit.

Many of the rooms have sea views. The private rooms are made up with fresh linen and the dormitory beds have duvets. There are doubles, twins, triples, quads and dormitory rooms.

A short 150 metre walk across the bridge to the shops, bars, restaurants, and i-site, or use the free bikes to pedal 5 minutes to the ocean surf beach.

There are some great walks around town, or catch the ferry to Pauanui for a change of scenery. Climbing Mount Paku is a must, the view is spectacular.

Cook a bbq while looking out to sea. Kitchen is compact but well equipped. Facilities include internet (coin and wireless), laundry, and tv room.

Only 2 hours to Auckland airport makes Beach Backpackers a great place to start or finish your holiday. All buses stop at the gate.20 minute drive to Hot Water Beach and Cathedral Cove is a great day out. Quiet, relaxed atmosphere suitable for the more mature traveller. A great place to chill out.
